The person who this was painted for was born in the year of the metal dragon, which is 2000. Therefore, the metal dragon is to the left of the painting. It holds a table tennis bat and is about to serve a ping pong ball to the other side of the net. I tried to make this have a serving and gaining points theme to the painting. This is why there is another golden ball on the other side of the net within the white lines. It was meant to represent that the owner was getting closer to their goals or had achievements already. There are other features such as the wattle, which is to the top left of the painting. This represents their time in Australia. Furthermore, there is a chrysanthemum flower about to bloom towards the centre of the painting, which for the Chinese represents long life, joy, and optimism for the Chinese, so it represents a long, good life for you in the coming years. To the top right of the painting is the emerging sun from the clouds, which also represents the owner’s rising and having a great future.
